You can get this amount by deducting the amount of your calorie intake from the amount of calories you burn off doing exercises. In this article I will tell you three surefire ways to put a check on your calorie intake.</p>
<p>1. Say &#39;No&#39; To Beverages: Barring a few, most beverages are high on calorie count. You should never drink fizzy drinks or sodas or even fruit juices, not just because they won&#39;t help satiate your diet in any way, but more importantly, they will make you a lot fatter. You should replace those beverages with water, as water can actually help you lose weight!</p>
<p>2. Don&#39;t deprive yourself: Some weight loss experts would suggest that if you really want to shed the pounds, you will need to forget about the &#39;forbidden foods&#39; that have made you overweight. What these experts fail to realize is that it is near impossible to forget about those tasty foods that we used to eat once. If you deprive yourself totally from these delicious foods, sooner or later you will cheat and munch on them. So it is far better to include a few of these &#39;forbidden foods&#39; in your diet. Of course, you should eat these foods in small quantities, just to satiate your mind.</p>
<p>3. Break up your large meal: The number one mistake that most overweight people make is that of eating a large meal at dinner time and then going hungry throughout the day. This will do you more harm than good and before you even know it, it will sabotage all your weight loss efforts. A far better option is to break up that large meal into several smaller meals and eat each small meal every couple of hours. Make sure that the gap between two meals is not too long, as starving can slow down your metabolic rate and as you might know, the slower your metabolic rate, the longer it will take for you to lose weight. </p>
<p>You may also consider filling up the gaps with different types of snacks. Whatever snack you eat, don&#39;t munch on chips and other junk foods as they are very high on calorie count!</p>

In this article I will discuss about the top three questions you must ask yourself before choosing any weight loss workout.</p>
<p>1. Question#1: Is it easy to demonstrate: Before choosing any weight loss workout or exercise, make sure that it is easy to understand. It doesn&#39;t matter how well the professional fitness trainers will understand the workout plan; what matters is how well YOU understand it, because it is YOU who is going to sweat it out in the gym. If any workout is incomprehensible to you, you will have a tough time carrying it out! Some workout plans are written in such a way that they are very difficult to understand for the layman.</p>

It is a known fact that people become overweight by overeating. Naturally then, they would become slimmer by undereating. But how do you control your eating habits? In this article I will discuss about six ways in which you can control your food intake.</p>
<p>1. Eat only when you are hungry: That is how it should be, but too many times people eat just for the joy of it. However, the very first step towards weight loss is to learn to eat only when your stomach growls and otherwise not! Which means that if you are eating your office lunch and are already full when someone offers you a burger, you should say &#39;NO&#39; to it. If you are at a party and you think you have eaten enough and if one of your friends offers you &quot;something more&quot;, you should turn it down. When you are eating your dinner, you should stop eating as soon as you feel full!</p>
<p>2. If you are eating for comfort, taste every bite. Even with all the necessary precautions you take to control your food intake, you may still want to eat for pleasure. If you are eating for pleasure, you should taste and enjoy every bite of your food; this will satiate your food cravings with very little food intake!</p>
<p>3. If you think you have really eaten one of the &#39;forbidden foods&#39;, don&#39;t be harsh or mean to yourself. Love yourself and try to understand why you ate what you ate. Sometimes it pays to be curious with yourself and give yourself the benefit of doubt, instead of being overtly judgmental.</p>
<p>Remember that it is possible to lose weight by being kind to yourself. As a matter of fact, you will seldom be able to lose weight if you beat your head against the wall for every little fault of yours.</p>
<p>4. If you eat for emotional reasons, try to stop that practice by feeling your feelings. Whether you are happy, sad or angry, try to &quot;feel&quot; those feelings intensely instead of trying to quench them with food. Remember that food isn&#39;t and can never be a source of comfort for the mind; useless eating can only make you heavier!</p>
<p>5. Stop searching for better things and better environment and stop waiting for things to happen. Stop searching for a better house, a better wife or a better job. Try to be happy with yourself. Love and enjoy your life the way you want instead of waiting for certain things to happen. Remember that &quot;things&quot; never make us happy; happiness always resides within us!</p>
<p>6. Even though you should try to discipline yourself and stick to the diet plan your doctor has recommended for you, occasionally it will happen that you will cheat and binge on something delicious. When you do so, don&#39;t be mean and angry with yourself; instead, write down about each type of food that you ate, and why. </p>
<p>Just because you haven&#39;t succeeded in losing weight in the past doesn&#39;t mean that you will fail this time too! If you take my advice and follow the six tips above, there is no reason why you cannot get rid of that extra belly fat!</p>

Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it sounds, because many times people have problems keeping their mouths in check. In this article I will tell you two ways to cut down on calories and stay in shape.</p>
<p>1. Replace large plates with smaller ones: You may not know it, but if you eat off small plates, you will be able to cut down on your food intake by a huge degree. Here is how: if you put a small amount of food on a large  plate, you will think that you are indeed eating very little food. This thought would tempt you to eat more and more, which is not a very good thing. However, if you put the same amount of food on  a smaller plate, your brain will think that you are eating a lot of food, because your eyes will see the plate as full! This way you will be able to trick your brain into thinking that you have eaten a large amount of food while in reality it is exactly the opposite. Even though some people underestimate the importance of this technique, this is really a very easy and pain-free way to cut down on food intake!</p>
<p>2.  Eating quality food is the name of the game: When it comes to weight loss, it is not only the quantity of food you eat that matters, but also its quality. If you eat foods from fast food restaurants that are rich in calories, you will gain weight instead of losing it. It is the same case with processed and packaged foods; most of them are calorie-rich. Some processed foods are being marketed as low-fat and low-calorie products but don&#39;t ever believe them! Instead read the labels of these foods and educate yourself! You should also educate yourself about the calorie content of the ordinary foods such as vegetables and fruits. You can read about the calorie content of each type of food on the internet, as this information is mostly available online for free! Make sure you do your due diligence before purchasing any food items, instead of going by the advertising and hype!</p>

However, for creating a weight loss plan that is easy to maintain, you need to do some research and homework. In this article I will tell you what you need to do for this purpose.</p>
<p>1. Set a weight loss goal: The very first thing you need to do is to set a weight loss goal for yourself. I know it sounds clichéd, but my purpose in mentioning this here is to emphasize the fact that you should set only realistic goals for yourself. If you set unrealistic goals such as losing weight within a month or becoming slimmer within three weeks, you will never be able to achieve those impossible or vague targets and this will in turn make you disappointed and frustrated. </p>
<p>In order to set a realistic goal, you need to take into account how much weight you can ideally lose. Usually, you should shoot for your ideal body weight; you can get your ideal lean body weight by finding out what should be the body weight of a person of your sex, age and height. Once you get that number, you need to multiply it by 1.15 (1.2 if you&#39;re a woman). This will give you your ideal body weight. Then deduct your ideal body weight from your current body weight and you can easily understand how many pounds you need to lose in order to achieve your ideal body weight.</p>
<p>2. Know your resting metabolic rate: Your resting metabolic rate is the number of calories you burn while you are inactive. This will not only give you an idea of how fast or slow your metabolic rate is, it will also tell you how many calories you should really consume on a daily basis in order to lose weight. </p>
<p>3. Create a meal plan: Once you know how much calorie your body needs, you need to create a meal plan for yourself that will provide your body with all the necessary nutrition without making you heavier. Then try to stick to this meal plan and shop for the necessary ingredients. Make sure you don&#39;t go shopping on an empty stomach, as you may be prone to getting tempted to taste the calorie-rich foods. Instead, shop only on a full stomach.</p>
<p>4. Make an exercise plan: You may or mayn&#39;t believe it, but unless you add exercises in your weight loss plan, you can never really keep your weight off for a long time. Exercises form an integral part of any weight loss program. If you find exercises to be boring, have a friend workout with you. Remember that the more intense your exercises are, the more fat you will be able to burn, and that you need to exercise for at least an hour every other day of the week. However, if you find that you are getting tired with high intensity exercises such as resistance training and cardio, you may start with lighter exercises such as swimming, jogging, cycling, walking, etc. and then increase your activity level as you start feeling comfortable.</p>
<p>5. Measure your body instead of body weight: Some people make the mistake of measuring their body weight on a weighing machine every now and then. Not only it is stupid, you also cannot get an exact idea of how you are faring with your weight loss program. A better option is to measure your thighs and waistline regularly. Also remember that you should never confuse muscles with fat. The more muscles you build, the more fat you will be able to burn; hence you should make it a point to do muscle-building exercise regularly!</p>

<p>Obesity is becoming a growing menace, especially in the US. Even more menacing is the number of people who are losing money hand over fist by investing in fad diets and unsuitable weight loss programs. Below I will give you four weight loss tips that will help you lose weight no matter what your weight is!</p>
<p>1. Being positive always helps: It is imperative that you stay positive at all times, right from the time you join a weight loss program to the time you finish it off. Always smile and think positive - imagine how you will look like when you become slimmer. If you continuously think about negative things, it will depress you and you won&#039;t be motivated enough to make the necessary effort to lose fat, and in effect, you won&#039;t be able to get rid of your belly fat. When you set a weight loss goal, you will be able to reach it faster if you think positive.</p>
<p>2. Try to walk as mush as you can: Stop sitting on your couch all the time. Remember that it was your couch that made you overweight. Obviously, if you want to get skimmer, you need to leave the couch and take a walk. At the start, don&#039;t try to walk for a long distance. Take short steps. If you use car at all times, substitute it with your legs. For example, if you use car to go to the marketplace, walk up to that place. Instead of taking the elevator, use the stairs. Such short activities are far better than total inactivity. Obviously, if you exercise instead of walking, you will burn even more fat.</p>
<p>3. Don&#039;t skip your breakfast: Many people think that skipping breakfasts and meals is the surefire way to lose weight. It isn&#039;t! Far from it, if you skip your breakfast, you will feel hungry later in the day and then you will start munching on unhealthy and calorie-rich foods. This way, you will end up gaining more weight than what you started with!</p>
<p>4. Invest in a weight loss program: You can do only so much yourself. If you join a weight loss program, you will gain a lot from the help and advice of professionals. If you haven&#039;t joined any weight loss program yet I really urge you to invest in one. It is an investment that will bear fruit in proper time.</p>
